LB/DL Ryan Bain (6-2, 249, 4.7) of Bolingbrook (IL) says he really likes the Big Ten, but his only offer so far is from Oregon.

"They offered a while back. It was in Jan. They said it in an email and said they'll see me in person in May," said Bain. "My buddy Kyle Williams (Iowa signee) went on an official visit there and said it was awesome. They they started sending me stuff and I sent them out a tape."

Ryan denies a leader, but plans to attend the Notre Dame JR Day on Apr 26. "I used to watch Notre Dame as a kid. The thing that stands out about them is Coach Greg Mattison. He seems real interested and we keep in touch. He's a good guy and sends a lot of handwritten stuff. I really love the academics and with a degree from there you can do whatever.

"Academics will be real important to me. I want a school that will be there for me and will have tutors and help make sure I pass and not just leave me alone."

He's also going to the Nebraska spring game on Apr 17. "I don't know that much about them. I'm eager to learn more about them and meet the new coaches."

Ryan also expressed interested in Maryland and Illinois, but says he's still very open. "I really like the Big Ten a lot, but I plan to give everybody a shot." Ryan had 134 tackles with 28 for loss as a JR. He also had six sacks and one pick. Ryan benches 400, squats 525 and has a VJ of 30. "I'm real aggressive and hit hard. Nobody is more aggressive than me. I'm real strong and tough. I'm shifty, but I want to be faster and get to the RB quicker."
