Jarrett Drake is a 6-3, 195-pound receiver from Dolton (Ill.) Thornridge and Drake just spent the weekend out west, visiting Stanford for their Junior Day.

Read more about Jarrett's visit to Stanford, and see if he will take a visit to Illinois in this update from TheInsiders.com and IlliniBoard.com.

"I didn't go to the Nike camp there, but I did go to a Nike camp at Iowa," Drake told TheInsiders.com Tuesday night. "I ran a 4.70 40 there."

And how was his Palo Alto experience? "It was my first trip to Stanford," Jarrett said. "The campus is great, you almost forget you're at a school. The facilities were nice and I like the philosophy that they are trying to teach out there. It was a nice experience."

And Drake's highlight? "Meeting Bill Walsh," Jarrett said, without hesitation. "The conversation didn't last long, but that's a Hall of Fame coach right there."

Drake caught 35 passes for 590 yards and 5 touchdowns for Thornridge last season, but what's more impressive is what he does off the field. He's ranked number-one in a class of 275 with a 4.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. His SAT score is 1210. "I think I'll live with that number," Drake said when asked if he would be retaking the SAT.

Notre Dame, Stanford and Northwestern top Drake's wish list, and he'll be camping at Notre Dame, Northwestern and Purdue this summer. "I don't have it all mapped out yet," he said. "But I'll be going to Notre Dame and Nortwestern for sure, probably Purdue, Indiana and maybe even the University of Illinois."

Drake does not have any scholarship offers at this point.

Jarrett is known as a player that likes to take defensive backs to the limit. "I'm known as a deep threat," he said when asked to describe his game. "Because of my height advantage, I can go up and battle for the ball."
