Meet Mike Davis, Class of 2005, Chicago Native

<p>Everyone by now knows who guard Bobby Frasor is - he's ranked as the 23rd best player according to, but the sleeper on the Illinois Wolves AAU team may be Mike Davis from Gordon Technical High School. I recently spoke with the 6' 7" big man.

Mike Davis is just working on his game to improve. He knows that his name is now on the radar screens; he's been invited to participate in the Adidas camp this summer, which he will play in.

Davis is a 6-7 forward that keeps getting better each time out. "Right now I need to work on playing wit my back to the basket," said Davis, "but my outside game is coming along nicely." Davis is aware of what Bruce Weber did last year at Illinois and he likes the hire of new Assistant Coach Tracy Webster, with whom Davis has a good relationship. "I really like coach Webster; he was really involved with me when he was at Purdue."

Right now Davis admits he's wide-open for his services, but his list includes Purdue, Illinois, Dayton and Southern Illinois.

Even though a lot of people don't know too much about Davis he knows that his upside is tremendous, and has been told how athletic he can be. Maybe one of the reason people are taking the wait and see approach could be his weight - he's listed at 205 pounds.

Stay tuned on Mike Davis. He could end up in a big-time program.
