When I called to talk to Tony Freeman he was in a class so I got to speak with his mother, Ms. Stacey Freeman. Stacey took the time to tell me that her son has been looked at by a lot of big time schools recently. Most of those schools wanted a commitment right away. "We took our time this spring. Tony wanted to see where he stood after the summer before he made a choice," said Stacey.
"Right now there are a lot of schools asking about my son and there's no list to speak of," added Stacey.
"My son is a very good student. He carries a 3.5 GPA right now and plans to major in Sports Management and minor in Finance."
The Freemans know what they are looking for in a school. "It doesn't matter how far away he goes to school, we just want to make sure he's happy and the most important thing - he fits in," said Stacey.
Theinsiders.com lists Tony as a three-star recruit. He's a 5-11 PG that averaged 18.0 per game as a junior and can shoot the ball with the best of them. The list of schools that show the most interest in Freeman at this point is: Wake Forest (a top-10 team this upcoming season), DePaul, Iowa, Marquette and Louisville. Wake Forest is showing the most interest.
