Chester Frazier, a 6-foot-2 point guard out of Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame, committed to the Illinois program Monday night, according to his prep school coach.

"I think he's going to [publicly commit] tomorrow," Bill Barton said. "It's in play so it's going to happen. I guess he has tonight."

Frazier was a standout at Lake Clifton in Baltimore last season. Barton has only coached him for a few months but said the 5th year prep player has really been outstanding during his stay at the school.

"He's 6-2. He's very, very good. He's been dominating in the open gym. He shoots it better than everyone thought and he's taken his game to another level in the open period."

Prior to Illinois, which recently hosted him on campus for a visit, College of Charleston and LaSalle had extended offers.
