Bill Barton is very excited about Chester Frazier and his talent level. "During the summer most people didn't recognize him because his AAU team made him pass the ball all the time. For me, we are going to let him get out in the open court and play," stressed Barton.
"Don't worry about the rankings," said Barton. "Illinois is getting a great athlete. He can run, shoot and distribute the ball. He loves to push it up the floor and plays great on the ball and team defense.
During Mid-Day Madness I had the opportunity to see Frazier in a non-competitive game situation. From everything that I could tell, he was really focused on shooting the ball and doing it the correct way. "Shooting the ball is something I told Chester he can never do too much of. He's got a nice looking shot, but from what we have been told, he didn't get to use it too much. Playing here, that will change."
Illini fans, you can pat yourself on the back for this player with the enthusiasm you brought to Assembly Hall this past Saturday. "When he came back here he knew that's where he wanted to attend school. That was a great atmosphere up there for him," said Barton.
