Illinois QB - Paul Blalock

<b>Paul Blalock</b>, the #89 prospect, in the Midwest, according to Scout.com, gave Illinois his verbal commitment before the 2004 season. Is Blalock talking to any other schools? Has he been contacted by the new coaching staff at Illinois? Check it out.

"I haven't heard from anyone at Illinois for a while," Paul Blalock.

"I'm not talking to any other schools right now.

"I'm still committed to Illinois but I haven't set up any official visit yet with them. I haven't heard from anyone on the new coaching staff yet either."

What does Blalock think of the new Illinois football coach?

"I hear coach (Ron) Zook is a great guy and a players coach. I can't wait to meet him." Blalock said.

"I'm a quarterback and he (Zook) likes to throw the football. What's not to like about that? I'm ready to get to work."

Blalock, a 6-foot, 205-pound, quarterback from Aurora (Ill.) Waubonsie Valley threw for 2,138 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2004. He also rushed for 550 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Blalock was named all-state by the Champaign News-Gazette and the Illinois High School Coaches Association.
