Peoria Richwoods defeated Woodruff 63-56 in overtime. Richwoods Coach Greg Ellis sat his starters for most of the second quarter because as he said "they were not getting the job done."

Glenbrook North defeated Maine West 54-42 in a game that was much closer than it was expected to be.

From the free throw line, Scheyer was automatic. The sign of a good free throw shooter, besides shots going in is having the exact same routine on every shot, and Scheyer has that routine down. He was 11 for 11 from the foul line on Friday night, and I believe he only hit the rim once on a free throw.

Scheyer happened to have his own dry spell, shooting 4 of 13. But the 6-foot-6 junior, who sat out two days of practice with a sprained right ankle converted, 11-of-11 free throws to lead the Spartans.

Sean Wallis (13 points) and Zack Kelly (11 points) picked up the slack offensively for the Spartans.

"I've had worse shooting days," said Scheyer, who had to leave the game briefly in the fourth after getting banged on a rebound. "Sean (Wallis) picked it up in the first half and the other guys also contributed."

Crane defeated Marshall 69-68 in a Red West League game behind Sherron Collins and Tyrone Kent each scoring 26 points in the game.

Tyrone Kent and Sherron Collins scored a knockout with 26 points each as host Crane defeated Marshall 69-68 Friday in the Red-West.

Trailing 63-61 with 2:05 remaining, Collins triggered an 8-3 spurt with a basket, two free throws and two steals down the stretch.

"It was very risky, but I wanted Sherron to be aggressive in the second half,'' Crane coach Anthony Longstreet said. "Fortunately, things worked out for us.''

Collins finished with 26 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and seven assists. Kent grabbed 12 rebounds, and Darrius Walton added 12 points.

Bryce Webster - St. Thomas Academy
St. Thomas Academy defeated Richfield 65-58.

Bryce Webster, a 6-9 junior center from Mendota Heights (MN) St. Thomas Academy, had 28 points, twelve rebounds and seven blocked as he led the Cadets to a 65-58 win over Classic Subruban rival Richfield. Webster made 13 of 15 shots from the field. Webster, one of the top big men from the Class of 2006, has received over 50 scholarship offers, including recent offers from Kansas and Cincinnati. Webster averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds per game for the Cadets as a sophomore, who finished 17-10 last season. Webster played in the Nike All-American Camp and with the Howard Pulley AAU team this spring and summer. St. Thomas Academy is currently 6-6 this season.
