Ohio Native Josh Chichester Gets Offer?

Josh Chichester, a 6-7 forward from Ohio, visited Illinois during the Valparaiso game back in December when the Illini won 93-56. "I really enjoyed the game. It was a great atmosphere," said the four-star recruit. Read Kedric's interview with Chichester.

Josh told me that he will not say who his favorite school is at this point. "I'm playing the field, with schools like Notre Dame, Illinois, OSU, Purdue, Tennessee and Wake Forest rounding out my list," said Chichester.

However, according to Chichester he's been offered by the Illini and he likes what he sees from the Number #1 team in the nation. "They are great. Illinois plays team basketball and they like to share the ball with everyone. They deserve their ranking at this point."

Chichester added that from the schools listed, "Illinois, Purdue and Ohio State are recruiting me the hardest at this point. All of those schools have really put a lot of time in on my recruitment, and Illinois told me they wanted me at their school."

Chichester is currently averaging 12 ppg and 8 rebounds, but felt his numbers may not tell the truth about his game. "I can do it all. When people try to take away my post game, I like to go outside to hit the jump shot," said Chichester. Just last week Chichester scored a career high 25 points against Lakota East.

At some point this star athlete plans to come back to Illinois and see another game, but for now he's keeping his eye on the Illini.
