Sophomore Guard Likes Illinois

Only a sophomore, DeAndre Bynum is making a name for himself with big time college programs. Illiniboard.com's Kedric Prince recently spoke with DeAndre. Get inside for details on this rising star guard.

Just recently the Louisville Cardinals received a verbal commitment from 6-5 freshman Martez Walker, so don't think it's too early to get involved with young players. As a matter of fact, DeAndre Bynum said some of his friends received letters from major colleges in eighth grade.

Bynum is a 6-4, 185 pound guard from White Station High School in Memphis, Tennessee that visited the Illini during the Indiana game just last week. "I really enjoyed myself at the game. I was more impressed with the fact they're a top 10 school academically. I really liked hearing that," said Bynum. Again, it's no secret that today's athletes like the style of the Illini and Bynum is no different. "They are fun to watch play. I like their style and they pass the ball really well," added Bynum.

"I watch Illinois play on T.V. all the time. They are really good but I'm only a sophomore so I still have some time, but I hope to come back again soon," added Bynum. Schools vying for his services are Illinois, Oklahoma, Florida, Arizona, Memphis and Ole Miss. Stay tuned for more on this star. As of yet Bynum has not decided on an AAU team, but I'm sure this summer will be a big one for this star.
