Brandon Rush is a 6-7 shooting guard/wing forward from Mount Zion, North Carolina and has many college suitors after his services. Rush has his list of schools and he's staying with them. "Right now I'm looking at Illinois, Oklahoma, UNLV and Arkansas. I plan to visit Illinois as soon as my season is over," said Rush.
The rumor was that the Illini offered Rush, who is listed #1 at his position by our Scout.com services. "I like Illinois. They offered me a scholarship to play for them. They're the #1 team in the country, but I just want to play basketball," stated Rush.
Because the Illini are number one and the best team in college basketball at this point, so many players are listing the Illini as one of their schools. Rush said, "Illinois has a great shot with me, you could definitely say that. I don't care about what people say about Big Ten basketball - a conference is a conference the way I see it."
Currently, according to Rush, he's averaging 26 ppg, 6 rebounds and 2 steals a game. "I have good numbers but I can still work on my game. I like when teams push the ball; get out and go with it is my style," Rush said.
For all those questioning his grades, this is what the star guard had to say for all those doubters: "I have the grades to play DI basketball and I'm ready to go."
Scout.com report on Rush:
Athleticism has always been his trademark. Comfortable at mid-range but he gets to the rim when he wants to. Coming into his own as a scorer. Needs to become consistent but all the tools are there.
