A prospect to watch in the state of Illinois in '05 will be John Tranchitella. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound, athlete, from Addison (Driscoll Catholic) will be a three-year starter in 2005.
"I think what the college recruiters need to know about John is that he's a very good athlete," Driscoll head coach Tim Racki said.
"We've used Tranch(itella) at wide receiver, cornerback, safety and running back. He'll probably be a safety in college. He's got great hands and he's still growing.
"Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Northwestern, Northern Illinois and a few other schools have called and asked for tape."
Driscoll Catholic is a small school power in Illinois. Located in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, Driscoll draws excellent student-athletes from booming communities. The Highlanders have won four straight (4A) state championships. Tim Racki will leave Driscoll in May to take over the head coaching duties for Nazareth Academy in La Grange, Illinois. Former Driscoll all-state running back, John Burzawa will take over as head coach of the Highlanders.
