Today Could be a Good Day in Champaign

Richard Semrau is a 6-9 forward from Lutheran West High School in Ohio and a Four- Star recruit that tells's Kedric Prince his top three schools and which is the leader at this point. Get inside.

Richard Semrau will arrive in Champaign, Illinois around 9:30 tonight and he's very excited about his visit. "I'm really excited about my visit to Illinois. Right now I have three schools on my list; they are Illinois, Florida and UNC. Right now if I had to say I have a leader, it's definitely Illinois. They are recruiting me very hard right now and I really like that," Semrau said.

Semrau is a good student. He's carrying a 3.0 GPA and scored a 23 on his ACT test. "I'm good to go school-wise, now it's just picking the school," Semrau added.

Don't think a verbal is out of the question for Semrau this weekend. "My parents will not be there with me this weekend but they told me the same thing they told my sister - if it feels right, you commit and we'll support you."

Semaru also stressed what he liked about the Illini and it all starts with Coach Bruce Weber. "I like what they run. They had a great record and I like the motion offense. I see myself just like James Augustine. Weber let the kids play up-tempo offense and Augustine was able to go out and knock down the jump shot. They told me I would be playing the four spot there."

"I know how important I am to Illinois. They told me that, and that meant a lot to me. If I don't verbal this weekend I might call UNC to see what's going on, and maybe this summer I will visit Florida," Semrau added.

"My father likes Illinois also because it's a great public school, great basketball program, great tradition and they have very good academics."

Don't think for one minute fans, that recruits don't talk. Semrau knows that Jon Scheyer from Glenbrook North in Illinois will be there this weekend also.
