H-Squad standout Davon Jefferson is headed to prep school. After his stint there, it's likely he stays local and picks a place like UCLA or USC. "I always liked to go to UCLA," Jefferson said. UNLV assistant Marvin Menzies who recruited Jefferson to Vegas last fall, is now at Louisville so you never know what could happen with the Cardinals. …

Harrison Smith, a guard with the Houston Swoosh, is hearing from Connecticut, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida and Florida State. … N.C. State is now the leader for Marques Johnson. The Blessed IJN guard confirmed that the Pack led after his recent unofficial visit. Also in the mix is Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Tennessee and Purdue. …

Renardo Sidney told one reporter that Alabama was his early favorite and Duke was on his list as well. Sorry for the school list from the 8th grader but we figured it was worth repeating. … Louisiana Stars guard LaRyan Gray is hearing from Baylor, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, Connecticut and New Mexico. …

Sophomore Julian Vaughn took an unofficial visit to Duke on Thursday. He's thinking of dropping by UNC this week and has offers from Maryland, Miami and N.C. State. Georgia Tech, Virginia and Virginia Tech are worth mentioning early as well. …

RBC West power forward Alex Stepheson has offers from Wake Forest, UConn, Arizona, Georgia Tech and Washington. He likes UNC but the Heels have not offered. He visited Wake Forest unofficially last week. …

Taj Gibson, a 5th year prep and East Coast native is out on the West Coast for school. He might be looking to take his game back East. Interested parties include Louisville, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Arizona, St. John's, Pittsburg, Oregon State, UCLA and USC. …

Armon Bassett is fresh off a visit to Xavier and lacing them up with a new AAU team: Spiece Indy Heat. Bassett liked the trip to "X". "They're graduating a senior point guard," Bassett said. "Unless I screw it up, I would start." What he'll start on Thursday is an official visit to Missouri. He also likes to list Illinois but the Illini have not offered to date. …

Alex Legion of the Michigan Hurricanes, scored 15 points and was dehydrated in his final game. The sophomore lists Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA, Kansas, Duke and UNC. … Jodie Meeks has offers from South Carolina, Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and Colorado. He'd listen to Wake Forest and Duke as well, according to Scout.com's Evan Daniels. …

Word on the streets was that Willie Walker fared well against the Atlanta Celtics and Javaris Crittenton. It seems like this guy is never fazed by who he's going against. His size – and rightfully so – will make some programs hesitant to pull the trigger but his basketball IQ takes him places. … DC Assault soph Austin Freeman is an excellent shooter, sometimes streaky, but he's got mid and deep game. More guys wish they could stroke it like he can. His lefty runner was one of the shot's of the day. …

Sophomore Julian Vaughn's ability to play facing the basket is outstanding for a young big kid. … Class of 2005 wing ace Seketoure Henry isn't going to qualify but his stroke will be in demand after the summer. … So Cal All-Star big man Taj Gibson is Tayshaun Prince long around the basket. … Charlie Chapman made some huge shots for Fox Valley as they slapped a 28-9 second half run on the Philly Raiders. …

We didn't catch the game but the word was that D.J. Augustin had a nice outing against New Heights Saturday afternoon. … Hurricanes center Tom Herzog is not your average 7-footer. He changes ends well, has a feel and is working in more tools on offense. …
