Illinois Big Man Getting it Done this Summer

Peoria Richwoods High School center Bill Cole attended the Illinois team camp this past Sunday. Read here for Cole's performance at the team shoot-out.

Bill Cole is a player that most Illini fans may have forgotten about lately, but according to sources Bill Cole "tore it up" at the Illinois team camp on Sunday.

Next year Cole will be a junior at Peoria Richwoods High School. He will have to be more vocal and let's face it, the team's leader on and off the court. Sunday you saw that come out in Cole. "I want to win. I'm older and I will be more aggressive and call for the ball more. I told my team on Sunday to get me the ball and I will score." Score is what Cole did a lot of this past weekend.

During a previous conversation Cole gave me a list of schools that he likes: Illinois, Iowa and Notre Dame. However, Cole understands the success the Illini just had this past season. Cole is the former teammate of Jamar Smith, who should be on campus next weekend at Illinois.

"Right now Illinois hasn't offered me a scholarship; it may be too early, I don't know. I will just go out and play good, hard basketball. The month of June I will spend a lot of time with team, but come July I will be playing a lot with my AAU team. We will be gone all July playing basketball," said Cole.

Cole is a very athletic big man that runs the floor very well and is now becoming more assertive on the court. After this summer ends, not only will schools like Illinois, Iowa and Notre Dame make his list, but maybe a few other top-notch programs as well.
