Sherron Collins Steals Show

Chicago point guard Sherron Collins proved at the Nike All-American Camp that he's one of the nation's top preps in the class of 2006. Read here for more on Collins.

Sherron Collins, unlike a lot of players at the Nike Camp #63 in Indianapolis last week, really stood out above the rest of the players.

Depending on whom you talk to, Collins' top two schools are Illinois and Iowa. Collins had former Illinois Coach Bill Self drooling over his play this past weekend. "Right now I'm pretty good friends with Brian Carlwell at Illinois and I like how Luther Head and Deron Williams played," said Collins.

Collins will make some college program very happy. When you see Collins the first player that comes to mind is current Illinois guard Dee Brown because of their size and that famous head band.

When Collins went head to head with point guard Tywon Lawson of Clinton, Maryland, (who's committed to National Champions North Carolina), Collins had the two court gym buzzing. When college coaches, media members, and the officials calling the came "oh and ah" over Collins' killer crossover and his lighting quick first step - that tells a lot.

Collins has the total package: he's quick, he can shoot, he can pass, and plays just as hard on defense.

Very few players have the ability to change the outcome of a game and Collins is one of them. Most feel that Collins really likes Illinois but will wait to make a decision before he picks a college. His coaches are really taking the appropriate steps to make sure Collins will make the right choice when he picks a college. The more the scouts and coaches see him play the more he impresses, the more teams will try to get involved.
