"Illinois is still #1 with me" Eric Gordon

Eric Gordon is not hiding from the fact that he likes Illinois and they are the leader for his services. At the Las Vegas Big Time Team Camp this weekend, Gordon went head-to- head with another fellow five-star recruit, O.J. Mayo, the junior-to-be from Ohio. Read here for Gordon's take on the game and Illinois.

Eric Gordon is a 6'3", five-star recruit by Scout.com from Indianapolis, Indiana that recently took on O.J. Mayo head-to-head and came out on the winning end both on the scoreboard and in the scorebook. "I outplayed O.J. Mayo today, it was a great game we kept going at each other, he's a very good player, but today I played very well," said Gordon.

Gordon doesn't hesitate to tell you who his favorite school is when you ask him, "Oh yeah it's Illinois they are still number one with me, I like everything about Illinois they're style of play, their coaches, everything," he said.

"Right now I have to make sure I take care of my business when I decide on college, but when I do, you can bet I'm going to work on getting other kids to come with me. I've talked to the guys that have committed to Illinois and I know how much they want Sherron Collins, so they are getting the kids."

Even though it's still early, Gordon said he plans to continue to play hard and get better each time out. "The tournament goes until Wednesday I believe, and I want to keep playing ‘til the summer is almost over." Gordon said.
