Ready For Full-Time Duty

Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius interior lineman Reilly Lauer is poised to have a big senior season. Lauer shared time last year at Ignatius with Boston College recruit Jim Ramella and now Lauer is ready to take center stage. Reilly talks offers, favorites and which positions he's going to play in 2005.

"I have scholarship offers from Kent State and Miami (Ohio)," Reilly Lauer said.

"My favorites are Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Miami (Ohio) and Kansas.

"I don't have a leader right now. I'm going to have a lot of schools looking at me this year and hopefully I can get my hands on a few more scholarship offers."

The 6-foot-7, 240-pound, Lauer, weighed only 210-pounds as a junior and college recruiters will be looking closely at Reilly's first few games to see how he performs with the added weight.

"I'm going to be sending film to a ton of schools in September," Lauer said.

"Virginia told me that they are looking at me as a defensive end and offensive tackle. Miami (Ohio) thinks they can put 30-40 pounds on me and play me at offensive tackle. Most schools are saying defensive end."

Lauer does have the gene pool working in his favor. He's is the nephew of former Michigan linebacker Erick Anderson.

As a junior, Lauer had 30 solo tackles and 5 sacks. He carries a 3.0 GPA in the classroom and scored 2400 on the new SAT test.
