Charles Jackson is a 6-8, 252 pound power forward from Georgia that has played football most of his life and has been the center of attention. Jackson's first love now is basketball and he's planning to take it as far as he can.
Most assume that Jackson will think hard about sitting out the year with the current players on the roster: James Augustine, Shaun Pruitt, Marcus Arnold and Warren Carter. "I want to play. I'm going to do the things they ask me to do so I can get on the floor," said Jackson.
Jackson will be the youngest of the four and may be raw, but according to Jackson he's been holding his own during work outs. Jackson plans to make a push for time. "They haven't said anything to me about sitting out this season. I'm planning to play."
Augustine is the most polished of the inside men, but don't count out Pruitt and Arnold. They will surprise a lot of people this year. During Arnold's first year he was primarily a post player with limited range; now that's all changed and he's gotten a lot stronger.
Soon the players will be allowed to have individual workouts with the coaches, so time will tell how far most of these big men have come.
