Illini Off Kemp's List

Willie Kemp was a guard that the Illinois coaching staff put a lot of time in over the summer months. Read here for Kemp's reason for saying "no" to the Illini.

Willie Kemp, a point guard from Memphis, TN, blew up this summer. His list of schools is: Memphis, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee. At one time the Illini were high on that list, but things have now changed.

"I loved Illinois it was a great visit. Coach Weber is a great guy and he was great to talk to. Illinois did nothing wrong, I just want stay close to home. That's the only reason I'm no longer considering them," Kemp said.

Kemp made a visit to Illinois this past summer and he enjoyed it as well. "Some of the players were gone, but I did get to play with a few of the guys. That went good also. They should be good again next year," he added.

Currently the Illini are still in hot pursuit for Chicago native Sherron Collins, Evan Turner, and Derrick Jasper, a 6-foot-5 point guard from Paso Robles, CA. Recently, Willie Walker (another Illinois guard that the Illini had shown a little interest in) verbaled to DePaul.
