"Illinois Still Leading By Far," says Eric Gordon.

Eric Gordon is still very high on Illinois' wish list these days. Last night, Kedric Prince spoke with Gordon about his upcoming season and his visit plans for Illinois.

Eric Gordon, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound junior guard at North Central (Indiana) still has the Illini as his favorite college as of now. But two other schools are making a hard push for his service: Duke and Arizona.

Recruiting can be tough on kids, especially when you are a five-star recruit and ranked as the number one shooting guard by Scout.com. "Yes, I do get tired of all the attention I'm getting right now. That's why I only list three schools. I hope during the summer of next year I can pick a college," said Gordon. "I don't know who started the rumor that I was going to make a commitment soon - but that's not true."

Like most great high school basketball players, schools are setting up visits, and Illinois is trying to pick the perfect weekend in October. "Yeah, right now Illinois is trying to set my visit the same weekend as Derrick Rose. So as of right now we're still working on that," he added. "I will also be at Midnight Madness this year, so I will be down there a couple of times this year."

"Illinois is still leading by far. I really like the coaches down there. I talk to all three of them - Weber, Webster and Price. I have a great relationship with all three of them."

Gordon is working on his game; at school they have started open gym. "Guys are working hard to improve their game; we should have a good team this year."
