Sergio Brown Update's Allen Wallace catches up with Proviso East Safety / Wide Receiver Sergio Brown to update his recruitment. Has he scheduled any visits yet? Does he plan on taking an official visit to Illinois before making his decision? Read more in this update from and

Safety/wide receiver Sergio Brown (6-2, 190, 4.4) from Maywood Proviso East (Ill.) has over 25 offers. His top six in order of preference are: Notre Dame slightly over Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota, UCLA and Northwestern.

"Notre Dame looks pretty good this year," Brown said. "I was surprised they beat Michigan but the new coaches really prepared them well and it looks like a whole new team. I'm going to go to the Michigan State game next weekend."

Brown hasn't set up any official visits yet.

"Illinois is pretty convenient because they are only about two hours away, but so is Notre Dame. I like Nebraska because it's a big-time football school. They eat, sleep and breathe football."

"I like UCLA because the location seems awesome and they've got pretty good tradition. Distance doesn't matter that much," he said.

"I want to take three visits before I commit. I'll visit Nebraska, Minnesota and UCLA for sure. I don't need to visit Notre Dame or Illinois because they are so close."

Proviso East is 1-2 and he has 35 tackles, 1 interception, 1 touchdown receiving and 250 yards receiving.
