Ohio DB Still High on the Illini

Anthony Harris from Brookhaven High of Columbus, OH is expected to make a big jump into the Scout.com's Midwest "Top 100" rankings when they are released later this week. Read more in this update from IlliniBoard.com as to where the Illini stand in this talented defensive back's recruitment.

When Scout.com releases their new rankings this week, you'll see that Anthony Harris, a 6-foot, 192-pound, safety, from Brookhaven High of Columbus, Ohio made a significant leap into the Midwest "Hot 100".

Illinois offered Harris a scholarship before the start of the season and if Anthony decides to ink with the Fighting Illini in February, that would be a steal for Ron Zook and his staff.

Harris isn't receiving the attention that other top Midwest prospects received this fall but that's because Anthony has had some work to do in the classroom.

"I just took my ACT and I'm waiting on the test score." Anthony Harris said.

"Illinois is still my only scholarship offer and they call every week. Purdue is calling every week and they are just waiting to see my (test) score before offering.

"Wisconsin, Cincinnati and Ohio University are calling and sending hand-written letters. I haven't set up any visits. I'll start to do that stuff when I find out where I stand with my academics."

Anthony Harris is the No. 5 ranked safety, in the Midwest, according to Scout.com
