Ladi Ajiboye, a 6-foot-2, 290-pound, defensive tackle, from Banneker High in College Park, Ga., visited Illinois this past weekend and almost committed to the Fighting Illini.
"My visit went great," Ajiboye said. "I wanted to commit on the spot but my mom told me that she wanted me to wait until I visit South Carolina (1-13) in January.
"At Illinois we ate a lot of good food and we got to chill with the players. I got along great with everyone. I like the coaches at Illinois a lot. It felt like a family atmosphere and that's why I wanted to commit.
"I connected with everyone at Illinois and I just fell in love with the environment. Illinois also has very good academics and that was also very attractive."
Ajiboye told Scout.com that he also has a scholarship offer from Virginia Tech (1-28) and he has a visit set with the Hokies for the end of January.
