Trevor Mbakwe has Big Game

Trevor Mbakwe is an athletic big man that has plenty of interest in the Fighting Illini. Last year during the Big Ten/ACC Challenge the Illini played Wake Forest and Mbakwe attended that game. Read here for a brief update on this star player.

Trevor Mbakwe, a 6-foot-8 junior power forward from Mendota Heights (MN) Henry Sibley, had 31 points, 26 rebounds and three blocked shots, but it was not enough as they fell to Minnetonka 97-82. Minnesota head coach Dan Monson and direction of basketball operations James Ware were in attendance. Mbakwe was slowed by foul trouble as he picked up two quick fouls and set out a significant portion of the first half.

Mbakwe, who is considered one of the top players in Minnesota among the Class of 2007 along with Bloomington Jefferson center Cole Aldrich, is considering Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Marquette, Florida and Miami.
