Florida CB Commits to Illinois

Florida CB Chris Duvalt ended his recruiting process this weekend with the words that Illinois Head Coach Ron Zook wanted to hear. Duvalt committed to the Fighting Illini. Read more in this update from Scout.com's Ryan Jordan on Duvalt's commitment to Illinois.

Chris Duvalt is a big time defensive back from the state of Florida that we here at Scout.com-South have been very high on for quite some time. His recruiting started out slowly but it picked up a ton of momentum as we moved into January and he ended up with several schools hot on his trail. He ended the process on Saturday however with a commitment to Illinois.

"I committed to Illinois. I just felt more comfortable up there than I did at West Virginia," Chris Duvalt said.

Coach Zook and his staff did a great job recruiting Chris.

"I loved the coaching staff and the players the most. I love Coach Lox. He's a great guy. He and Coach Zook were very excited when I told them I wanted to commit."

What does he feel he brings to the table as the newest member of the Illini?

"I'm going to bring hard work and effort. I think my coverage skills are good and this year I've gotten to where I can tackle a lot better also. I've improved a lot on that part."

Duvalt is Illinois 27th public commitment in the class of 2006.
