Focus 2007 - WR/DB Sean Lees

Illinois athlete Sean Lees was very impressive last month at the U.S. Army National Combine. The 5-foot-11, 187-pound, athlete, from Libertyville (Ill.) Carmel showed tremendous speed, acceleration and athletic ability, Lees had a very productive junior season and now several schools are in contact.

Sean Lees started his high school career at Libertyville High School and transferred to Carmel after his freshman year. Illinois rules state that if someone transfers from a public to private school, they must sit out of all athletics for one year.

Lees worked out with the Carmel football team as a sophomore but wasn't allowed to participate in games. As a junior, Lees played wing back and rushed for 750 yards and 10 touchdowns. He averaged 7 yards per carry.

"I don't have any scholarship offers right now." Sean Lees said. "Boston College, Nebraska and Purdue have been sending me the most mail right now.

"My favorites are Illinois, Notre Dame, Purdue, Boston College, Northwestern, Indiana and Miami (Ohio).

"I haven't been to any junior days yet and I haven't made any decision on camps yet for this summer."

What does Lees bring to the table as a D-1 football player?

"I have good speed and I finish my runs." Lees said. "I'm physical and versatile. I think I could play offense or defense in college."

Lees was named all-area as a junior. He carries a 3.8 GPA in the classroom.
