"I Plan to Make a Visit."- Jamelle McMillan

For years Illinois has had great backcourt guards and the recent successes of Deron Williams, Luther Head and Dee Brown have caught the eye of 6-2 junior guard Jamelle McMillan of Seattle, Washington. Read here for his latest.

Guard Jamelle McMillan is in the Class of 2007 and the son of former great NBA player Nate McMillan of the Seattle Super Sonics. McMillan is getting some really good national attention. During the Final Four game last night, McMillan took the time to talk to us about his college plans.

"Right now I'm looking at Illinois, Georgetown, UCLA, and North Carolina State. Those are my favorites right now." McMillan is a student-athlete that pays close attention to which players each school has and who they have coming in. Junior Guard Eric Gordon has verbaled to Illinois and just like when Dee Brown committed to Illinois, a group of players followed him. "Oh yes, I know all about Eric Gordon. He's a great player and I know they are recruiting Derrick Rose, who also is great player. Most good athletes pay attention to what personnel the staff brings in," said McMillan.

"Illinois has a great program. I love how their guards play and Coach Weber does a good job of getting players in the NBA. Just look at Deron Williams, Luther Head and now Dee Brown - speaks for itself."

McMillan said Head Coach Bruce Weber is doing most of the work with him, and that's just fine. "Weber is a good coach and I love the way they play at Illinois. I've never been there, but on spring break I plan to make a visit down there."

According to McMillan Illinois hasn't offered him a scholarship at this point. "It's very hard to say who the leader is at this point, but I like the schools that I mentioned a lot."

Stay tuned for McMillan's visit the next couple weeks here at Illinibaord.com.
