Lewis Jackson Update

Today point guard Lewis Jackson of Decatur, IL made and unofficial visit to Champaign to see the campus, meet the staff at Illinois, and the current players. Read here at IlliniBoard.com for a short update on Jackson's visit.

Lewis Jackson is a 5-9 170 pound point guard who many compare to former Illini guard Dee Brown. "I like Illinois first because of the location, the staff, players and they proved their not afraid to play small guards because Dee was a star there," said Jackson.

According to Jackson head Coach Bruce Weber didn't offer him a scholarship but plans to in November after they see how things play out with the rest of the 2007 class.

"Right now I don't have a favorite because it's still early and I'm young, but I do plan to come back for a couple games." Jackson stated.

Jackson didn't get a chance to play today with the team today, he has a fractured wrist that he didn't know about. "I guess this is something that happened to me my freshman year and I'm taking care of if now."

Also on the visit today was teammate Jeremy Robinson who also is a 2008 recruit, he really liked it also.

Scout.com profile on Jackson: Tough guard. Not the biggest kid but will scrap you. Needs to continue diversifying his offense and working on his perimeter game. Will get into you on defense.
