Southern Forward Enjoyed Visit

Darius Miller is a 2008 recruit that made an unofficial visit to Champaign, Illinois last weekend along with future Illini guard, 6-3 Demetri McCamey. Miller is one of the best high school prospects in the country. Read here for an update on his visit.

Darius Miller is a 6-7, 185 pound, SF/PF from Maysville, Kentucky. He is listed as a four-star recruit by Scout.com and currently ranked as the 3rd best player at his position in the country. Darius wasn't available, so Illiniboard.com spoke with his father, Brian Miller, who attended with his son on the visit.

"We really had a good time at Illinois. The players and coaches were great. Coach Weber and Coach Webster are really good guys; they tell it like it is. You can tell they are telling you the truth about things and we like that honesty," said Miller.

Darius is just a junior, and Brian understands this process is still early and will not rush into things. "Darius is still really young with all of this. We haven't gone to a lot of places but it's hard because we can't go everywhere, and you can only take five official visits so we are just seeing what's out there. Darius doesn't have a leader and it's too early for a list of schools, but I know we will be coming back for another visit in the future," Miller said.

One thing is certain regardless of where players are from: they all love the style of play at Illinois. What players and parents appreciate about Weber is that when he says they get up and down the floor, watching them play is no different. "I watch them on TV so I know how they play the game. They are fun to watch," Miller added.

From an earlier report by Scout.com's recruiting analyst Dave Telep earlier this month, Miller has visited Tennessee for an unofficial visit.
