Big Ten Losing Streak is Over

Head Coach Ron Zook gets first Big Ten win beating the MSU Spartans 23-20, Rock Island, IL Native Jason Reda nets a 38-yard field goal to seal the win and avoid overtime on the road.

Call it what you want but the Big Ten losing streak is over for the Fighting Illini and head coach Ron Zook, "I wasn't nervous late in the fourth quarter, I asked Jason where he wanted the ball, he told me and we did that. We practice late game situations everyday in practice both field goals and touchdowns" Said Zook.

"Michigan State is a real good football team, we got a lot of pressure up front" Zook added, Michigan State game in averaging over 475 yards of total offense.

The win today breaks a ten game Big Ten losing steak for the Fighting Illini, they came in today as a 26 points underdog.

"The celebration on the field is something we will talk about on Monday we need to teach them how to win, but we know the guys are excited" said Zook.
