Four-star defensive tackle (ranked No. 12 by Scout.com) Josh Brent (6-3, 300, 5.0) from Bloomington Catholic (Ill.) has visits scheduled with Ohio State (December 8), Michigan (December 1) and Wisconsin (December 15). He says those three have an edge over Illinois and Arizona State.
"I was really focused on my season this year and haven't really kept in contact with a lot of coaches. Now that it's over I'm all about recruiting," Brent said. "I'm definitely going to take those three official visits. If I still feel like I can't make a decision I'll take more trips."
Brent will also be attending one of the most highly anticipated games of the year in a few weeks. "I'll be at the Ohio State/Michigan game," Brent said. "I'm going to be neutral even though I'm a guest of Ohio State's. I think it'll be a great game because that game is basically deciding who is going to the national championship. Both Ohio State and Michigan have had a great season and it's hard to pick a favorite."
Although he hasn't set up a visit with Illinois, Brent says the Illini are recruiting him the hardest. "They are an up and coming team and I think I could help them out," Brent said. "They've struggled this season, but I think they've made improvements and things are getting better for them."
His team lost in the second round of the playoffs, finishing the year at 9-2. Brent had around 70 tackles, 31 tackles for loss and five sacks.
He reports a 2.3 core GPA and a 21 ACT.
