Justin Bocot Makes Visit to Assembly Hall

Shooting guard talks to InsideIllini.com about why he feels the Illini are going after his services a lot harder. Read here for details.

This past Sunday, along with a number of other in-state recruits, Bloomington native Justin Bocot watched the Illini beat Belmont 77-51. "I really liked the game. They had intensity the entire game. Their defense turned up a notch and produced points for the offense, which I liked," said Bocot.

Bocot is a 2007 recruit and can see the difference in how hard the Illinois coaching staff is going after him. "It's really picked up since Eric Gordon left. It's been coming along pretty good. Right now Iowa, Iowa State, DePaul and Kentucky have shown the most interest in me, but none of them have offered me yet. But if I had to say one school I like more or the style more than the others, I would have to say it's Illinois," Bocot said.

Bocot played his AAU basketball for Ft. Sooy No Limit where he really made a name for himself. Here at Scout.com we list Bocot as a three-star recruit and offer this on his overall game: Offensive minded wing player can fill it up from the outside. Uses his athleticism to attack. Has a reputation as a scorer and it's well earned. Would like to see him get stronger and develop the passing part of his game because he's good enough to get to where he needs to go off the bounce.

It has not been clear if the Illini will offer Bocot, but he is a player that's on their radar and someone they are seriously looking at. InsideIllini.com will follow this recruitment and give more updates as we get them.
