Darius Miller update

Darius Miller a 6-6 forward is one of the top players in the Class of 2008 that Coach Bruce Weber is pursuing and doing so very hard. Get inside for more details on Miller.

Darius Miller from Maysville, KY made a visit to Illinois back in September. When I met with him for a brief visit he stated he liked his stay, the players and the atmosphere in Champaign. Just today I spoke with Brian Miller, the father of Darius, and we talked a little recruiting and Illini hoops. "We haven't really narrowed a list of schools yet, but I know he likes Illinois. As far as a leader or anything like that, we haven't done that. We watch them play, but usually Darius has games himself so sometimes it's hard to see them play," said Miller.

Being from the Kentucky it doesn't matter what conference his son plays in. "Right now he's just working on his game and trying to get better; he's doing pretty good right now. He's averaging 21 ppg, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 4 blocks a game, and he's still doing very well in the classroom. His team is ranked 2nd in the state."

Miller is a four-star recruit by Scout.com also ranked as the 3rd best player at his position.

"We would like to come back for a visit to Illinois. With his games it's just tough right now, but we will have to wait and see what happens when the season is over," said Miller.

According to Scout.com Miller's list of schools includes: Kentucky, Clemson, Illinois, Florida, Indiana and Tennessee.

Scout.com's profile on Miller: Miller is enjoying his stock rising to a high where many consider him to be the #1 prospect in the State of Kentucky for the 2008 Class. A player who can play the 3 or 4 spot, Miller is real athletic and shows very good rebounding skills. Plays with the D-I Greyhounds 16-under team.
