Recruiting is the key for all college programs and Liggins is a player that many feel could be a difference-maker at the next level. He's really improved his game and that's why the scholarship offers are starting to pile up. "So far Iowa, Illinois and Virginia have all offered me. Purdue is starting to talk to me a lot more, but those three schools are the ones that put it out there for me," said Liggins.
Liggins has been to Champaign for a couple of visits and is planning to make the trip down I-74 once again. "I'm planning to go back, I just don't know when that will be. I do talk to Coach Webster from Illinois a lot," he added.
This up-and-coming DI athlete is very soft spoken, and hasn't let it be known what school leads for his services. It appears right now this recruiting battle could go down between Iowa and Illinois if things don't change. "I won't be making any decisions this year. I will wait until next summer or something before I make the decision about where I want to go to college."
This George Washington High School player is averaging 15 ppg and 8 rebounds on the season. Liggins did say he liked the style of play that Illinois plays. "I'm about to sit down and watch the game right now. I try to watch them when I can," Liggins added.
Being from the class of 2008 I'm sure Liggins is a player, along with a number of other high-profile recruits, the Illini staff is going after pretty hard. Stay tuned here at InsideIllini.com as we try to find out what players Weber and company are trying to get for the orange and blue.
