Illinois Football Ticket Announced

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — "It's a Brand New Ballgame," the theme for Illinois Football, is also the basis behind a new season-ticket pricing structure announced by the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics today.

The "construction prices" for the 2007 football season primarily feature drastic changes to season-ticket prices in the horseshoe stands of Memorial Stadium, as well as discounted student season tickets.

Fans will be able to purchase Illinois football season tickets in the horseshoe for just $60 this season as part of the special "construction pricing" that the Fighting Illini have put in place for 2007. The same $60 price will be offered to UI students. Horseshoe single-game tickets will remain at $24 for most games, while UI student single-game tickets are $24 for all games.

"Illinois fans intending to see as few as two or three games will quickly see the value of a horseshoe season ticket," Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing Chris Hanna said. "The DIA is optimistic fans will take advantage of that fact, attend every 2007 home game, and fill Memorial Stadium on a more consistent basis. Horseshoe season tickets have been priced right for families to climb aboard the Fighting Illini bandwagon just before the Illinois Renaissance is completed. Just as Coach Zook is stacking talented class upon class, we want to keep adding to our loyal Illini fans."

The DIA took into account many factors when evaluating ticket prices for the 2007 season. These factors include pricing that will meet customer requests for lower ticket prices, fill Memorial Stadium with more loyal Illinois fans and "thank" fans in advance for potential inconveniences that may be incurred during Stadium construction.

The 2007 Fighting Illini season ticket includes six games at Memorial Stadium, with Michigan and Wisconsin being tabbed as "premium games." Sideline season tickets will remain at $249. Call the ticket office at 866-ILLINI-1 for more information on ticket locations and availability

Single-game tickets will go on sale on July 23, for remaining seat locations. Sideline tickets remain at $42 for most games this season. "Premium game" sideline single-game tickets are $50 each. For Michigan and Wisconsin, horseshoe single-game tickets will be priced at $32.

STATE FARM ARCH RIVALRY GAME: The Missouri game, played in St. Louis, is considered an Illinois home game this season, but is not included in the season ticket. Fans are encouraged to buy their Missouri tickets from the Illinois Athletics box office to reserve the best seat locations. Tickets go on sale April 1.
