Lewis Jackson hales from Eisenhower HS (Decatur, IL) and stands 5'9" with great ball handling skills. He is a good defender and a great leaper for a kid his size.
"I had a good weekend - a pretty good weekend - in Houston. One game I had 15 assists which was pretty good, but my overall play is just better right now," said Jackson.
Rumor has it that Jackson really wants to be a college teammate of DeAndre Liggins. Jackson spoke with us about that. "I don't want to say we're a package deal. I can't lie; we have talked about playing college ball together and it would be nice. He's so good and I like playing with him, but we're not telling people that at all," Jackson said.
Where do the Illini rank with Jackson? "They still have a scholarship offer on the table to me which I'm grateful for, but I really don't have a leader. No school is anymore important than the other at this point."
Be sure that when Liggins and Jackson continue to play together, college coaches will love the idea of having both of these two fine, young men participate on the same team. We tried to get in touch with Liggins last night but he was unavailable. We'll try to get in contact with him tonight here at InsideIllini.com.
