DeAndre Liggins is a 6-6 small forward-shooting guard from George Washington High School in Chicago (IL). He is a member of the Class of 2008 and plays his AAU basketball for the Indiana Elite. Liggins also ranks here at Scout.com as the nation's 7th best small forward and a bonafide four-star recruit with room for potential five-star status.
"This entire process is hard. Sometimes I just get tired of it – all the calls – everything. I know that's the way it is, but I do get tired of it a lot," said Liggins. Coaches knew all about Liggins, but he's having a monster spring. All coaches want that next "sleeper" and that's what people are saying about this Chicago native. He has all the tools to be a star at the collegiate level.
What schools interest Liggins right now? That was an easy answer. "Illinois and Memphis. I like Coach Webster; he's the main guy I talk to down at Illinois," Liggins stated. There are other schools that are vying for his services, but it looks like at this point it's going to go down to the wire for Illinois fans with the Memphis Tigers.
Along with school and taking phone calls from recruiting networks from all across the country, Liggins enjoys when he can get away and play the game he loves - basketball. "This weekend I'm getting ready for the Bob Gibbons 14th Annual Tournament of Champions in North Carolina. Scout.com will have an update on all the tournament teams this weekend.
