James Bell, Class of 2010, Talks Hoops

James Bell is a 6-4 shooting guard from Jacksonville's (FL) Arlington Country Day who still has his eyes on Bruce Weber and his Fighting Illini basketball program. Read here for the latest on Bell.

James Bell will only be a sophomore next season but he's one of the nation's best members of the Class of 2010. He also plays his AAU basketball for Team Stat.

"I really haven't had much contact with Illinois since Akron, Ohio but I get questionnaires from them and a lot of schools. I'm not going to make any predictions on any school right now because I'm still really young but I'm still interested in them," said Bell.

"Things are really starting to pick up for me. In my last summer league game I scored 31 points. It's summertime so I'm working on things to improve my game. This week I go to St. Louis for the Nike Jamboree; I leave on Wednesday with my AAU team," he stated.

Bell, at this point, seems to be a lot like current Illini commit Jereme Richmond, who's also a member of the Class of 2010. Both are athletic wings that can play multiple positions. "This summer and for my school I played the two and three positions but in college I would really like to play the three," Bell said.

As Bell mentioned, he's still fairly young with all this recruiting talk but before it's all said and done, with his skill level he will be able to pick the college of his choice. InsideIllini.com will call Bell after his play in St. Louis this week for an update on his games.
