Darius Miller Talks Hoops

The soft-spoken 6-6 small forward is finished with summer basketball; now he's about to start school. Darius Miller gives us a brief update. Read here for more.

Darius Miller (Maysville, KY), a legit four-star recruit, has the eyes of many lately. Depending on whom you talk to it seems like Miller is a lock for the SEC but according to him, it is not true. "I don't have a top five or top three schools at this point. I still like Illinois and they're in the running, but I'm not ready to say I have a list just yet," said Miller.

"I had a good summer. School starts for me on Wednesday so I've been getting ready for that, but I did pretty good this summer. I've definitely improved my jump shot; that's the one area I can see improvement the most," Miller added.

How important is Miller? "All three coaches - Coach Bruce Weber, Tracy Webster and Jay Price - all talk to me. They're nice guys and like I said, Illinois is still in the running. They have been to a lot of my games this summer."

Miller hasn't been to Champaign in over three months but if things work out he may be able to visit again, but that's not set in stone.

Darius is one of a number of high profile recruits Illinois's Head Coach Bruce Weber is pursuing. Here's a list of others that make that list from the Class of 2008: Iman Shumpert - Oak Park & River Forest HS (IL), Scott Suggs - Washington HS (MO), Verdell Jones - Central HS (IL), Delwan Graham - Dunwoody HS (GA), and Matt Roth - Washington HS (IL).
