Illini Get Four-Star QB

Jacob Charest a stud quarterback from Matthews (NC) Butler has decided to play his college football in Champaign for the next four seasons. On Sunday here at InsideIllini.com we learned of his commitment. Read here for the update.

Here at Scout.com we have Charest listed as the 16th best quarterback in the country, he checks in at 6'3", and 190 pounds, he will graduate next springs (2008).

Scout.com profile on Charest: Great arm and mental toughness for this overall tough player (wrestles in the off season). Strong hands but shows good touch on the deep ball. Great release point, still puts the elbow out a little bit; could make for a more compact release. Would like to see step up into the pocket a little more.

Charest picked the Illini over schools like: Boston College, Iowa, California, Louisville, North Carolina State and Oregon.

Here's the updated list of Zook's 2008 Class: Justin Staples (St. Edward HS), Tyler Sands (Boyertown Area SHS), Glenn Foster (Mount Carmel HS_, Ryan Sedlacek (Staples HS), Ashante Williams (Mayfield HS), Graham Pocic (Lemont Twp HS), Donsay Hardeman (Georgia Military), Jeffery Allen (King College Prep), Nate Palmer (Simeon Vocational HS), Jack Ramsey (Simeon Vocational HS).
