Mario Little, originally from George Washington High School in Chicago (IL), is attending junior college for the Chipola Indians in Marianna (FL). Just last weekend Little visited the Kansas Jayhawks. "I liked my visit to Kansas; it was great. The coaching staff was nice, the players were great and the entire atmosphere was just good."
The three schools Little will choose from will be Kansas, Illinois and Kansas State. Little will visit Kansas State this weekend, and the Illini on September 29th. "Since Coach Webster left, Coach Bruce Weber has been doing most of the recruiting. I really just found out that Webster left and it makes a difference - but it doesn't. I like Coach Webster, but again, Coach Weber has been very nice to me. I like the coaches at Illinois. It's close to home and I really love their fan base there. It's nice," said Little.
It was reported that Little enjoyed his visit to Kansas so much that he wasn't sure he would make the other two trips. "I did like it, but I set my three schools and I will make those visits. I want to see what the other two schools are like. I feel very fortunate because all three have offered me a scholarship," Little said.
During the weekend of September 29th, we here at InsideIllini.com will follow up with how things went for Little.
Last year Little didn't put up great numbers but his current coach, Greg Heiar, feels this could be a break out year for him. His numbers last year were 10.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest.
