"Yes I made a verbal commitment to play for Iowa, but after talking with Coach Zook the past couple days I think that's about to change. I like Coach Zook. He was up front with me about how things would be if I went to Illinois. My mom talked with the Iowa coaches a couple weeks ago and she just didn't feel Iowa was the best place for me. So she suggested I talk to the Illinois coaches because they seem to have things going in the right direction," said Ellington.
Illinois' current success on the field appears to have given Zook, already a masterful recruiter, added ammunition while on the trail, "I like what Illinois has done this year. It's not the only reason but it helps and also my current teammate, Supo Sanni, is down there so I'll know my roommate and that will help," he added.
"I will not say I'm 100% right now, but I think in a couple days, I will be certain of my future. Coach Zook has done a good job at Illinois and he wants me to be a part of Big Ten Championships and hopefully national championships at Illinois." Ellington continued.
It has also been recently reported that RB Jason Ford of Belleville, IL, a 5'10" senior with blazing 4.4 speed, decommited from the Hawkeyes and will also play for Zook.
