Dominique Keller Visits Assembly Hall Tonight

One of the worst kept secrets in a long time is that junior college All-American Dominique Keller has voiced his opinion on the Illinois basketball team and which schools he likes. Read here for an update on Keller and his visit tonight.

Dominique Keller, a 6-7, 225-pound forward from Port Arthur (TX) Lee CC, has caught the eyes of the Illinois coaching staff, fans, and alumni. Last week assistant coach Jerrance Howard paid Keller a visit and this past Tuesday the headman in charge, Bruce Weber, also paid a visit to Keller.

"It was cool to see Coach Weber. He's a real nice guy. The Illinois coaches have been great to me and they're showing me how important I could be to their program. They have laid things out for me, telling me how hard I need to work and if I do that, I'll have a great chance of playing," said Keller.

Last night Keller sent InsideIllini.com a text that told us what time his plane was leaving and how excited he was to be making the visit. According to his message he should arrive in Champaign at 4:00 today. He's seen Assembly Hall on TV and couldn't wait to see the fans and student section in full force.

The best comment of the night for Illinois fans was this - "I hope the visit goes well. If they want me and I like what I see, there's a good chance I could verbal to them tonight."

Illinois takes on the Michigan State Spartans, which has always been a war with two of the best coaches in the Big Ten going head to head. Bruce Weber and Tom Izzo respect each other in all aspects of coaching.

If Keller makes his announcement tonight, stay tuned here at InsideIllini.com for the update.
