Dimke Confirms Admittance to Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Rockford Boylan High School placekicker Derek Dimke has confirmed his admission to attend the University of Illinois in 2008 and will join the Illini football team.

Dimke was one of the top players in the state of Illinois last season and ranks nationally as the No. 13 placekicker by Scout.com. He holds the state playoff record with a 54-yard field goal he booted this season. For his performance in 2007, Dimke earned second-team All-State honors by the Chicago Tribune and special mention by the Champaign News-Gazette.

He is ranked among the top-15 kickers nationally by Kohl's Kicking and was All-Conference for the NIC-10. He was a Northern Illinois All-Area selection and has been tutored by current NFL kicker Billy Cundiff of the Kansas City Chiefs, and former players such as Filip Filipovic and Matt Bahr.
