Future Illini Earn All-State Honors

Illinois' head Coach Bruce Weber has certainly changed things around when it comes to his recruiting efforts, read here for a list of the award winners and see how Illinois did this year.

The 4A first team includes Oak Park River Forest's Iman Shumpert (Georgia Tech), Gurnee Warren's Brandon Paul (Illinois), Chicago Farragut's Mike Dunigan (Oregon), Homewood-Flossmoor's Kevin Dillard (Southern Illinois) and Batavia's Nick Fruendt (Northwestern).

Paul, a junior, is the only non-senior on the first-team.

The 3A first team consisted of Decatur Eisenhower's Lewis Jackson (Purdue), Washington's Matt Roth (Indiana), Chicago Simeon's Stan Simpson (Illinois), Chicago Marshall's Ryan Hare, and Champaign Central's Verdell Jones (major-college recruit most interest Minnesota).

3A's second-team had two Illinois-committed players Sterling's Joseph Bertrand, and junior, Peoria High D.J. Richardson.

*Most noticeable player left off the All-State teams was All American and Illinois recruit Jereme Richmond.
