Donivine Stewart Of Peoria Limestone Update

Donivine Stewart is part two of the player evaluation of this past weekend shootout in Champaign. Stewart remains a big part of the plans when it comes to recruiting the class of 2011.

Donivine Stewart: 5-10 2011 PG Limestone: Donivine is all point guard and a supreme one at that. He has the ability to score as well. It is very rare to find a player with Donivine's savvy, vision, and feel for the game. When combined with a globe-trotter handle and lethal shot from three he is a true joy to watch at the HS level.

Stewart has worked on extending his range 3-4 feet from the arc during practice. That hard work looks like it has paid off in an improved perimeter jumper which makes him that much more difficult to defend. There are few players on any level that understand how to position their body to obtain an advantage better than Stewart.

Many question his ability to play in college at a high level but in my opinion, Stewart out-dueled, Derek Needham from DeLaSalle who is a top level senior PG. Stewart has eaten up good Peoria-area competition as a frosh. Stewart is the real deal and people need to wake up to the fact! His athletic skills, while not world-class, are slightly underrated. I saw him out jump three other players to win a loose ball and he certainly has plenty of great quickness to go along with a very heady and skilled package.
