Bradley Beal – Class of 2011 - Was Offered

Illinois Head Coach Bruce Weber has been on a recruiting roll, and he's looking to keep a talented pool of players in the Champaign pipeline. After getting great news last week with a commitment from the class of 2010, 6'10" Meyers Leonard of Robinson, Illinois, Weber has turned his attention to the class of 2011. Read here for more on Bradley Beal.

Bradley Beal is a 6'0" guard from Chaminade High School in the St. Louis area. Various reports indicate that Illini Head Coach Bruce Weber has seen Beal play on a number of occasions, and thinks he has performed well enough to offer him a scholarship to play at Illinois.

"I really like the coaching staff," Beal said. "Coach Weber and Jay Price are the ones I talk to the most."

During the summer months it's hard to get these players on campus but Beal has made the trip to Champaign for an unofficial visit.

"I was there a couple months ago; I liked what I saw," Beal stated. "They're supposed to get me up there for a football game. I'm just not sure when that's going to be."

There are plenty of schools showing interest in Beal, but he said not all of them have offered. "I have offers from Illinois, Kansas and Purdue. St. Louis and Florida have shown some interest but no offer has been made yet," Beal acknowledged.

Beal told us he's not going to be ready anytime soon to make any kind of commitment as he feels it's too early in the process. But plans to take his time, enjoy his sophomore season, and make a few more visits.
