Anthony Johnson is a talented and smooth guard who has a four-star rating from Scout.com. He's a member of the Class of 2010 who has tremendous upside. He currently has offers from a number of colleges. Notre Dame, Ohio State, Kentucky, Marquette, and Purdue are among the schools that may have interest in Johnson. Sources say Ohio State may be in the lead for his services, but Johnson will not leak a favorite, at least not yet.
"I don't want to say I really have a leader because I do like all the schools recruiting me, so it's really hard to say right now," Johnson said. "Wherever I go, I know it's going to be sometime this year. A lot of players have offers and they take them so I don't think I'm going to wait until my senior year to do it."
When Johnson was younger he definitely had a dream school and it was his home state university. "Every since I was little I've always wanted to play there," Johnson admitted. "But since they got all the guards it made it difficult for me to see myself there. I mean I still like them but it's not a good fit. But having all those guards I certainly understand."
From the start Illinois was sending Johnson a lot of mail but that's slowed down a bit according to this young star. "I probably have over 35 letters from them, but some of it's about the school too," Johnson stated. "Everything is going well for me right now. I still have an offer from Illinois but I haven't really had a lot of contact from them lately. However I'm pretty sure if I called Illinois and told them I wanted to commit I'm pretty sure I could do that still."
