Tyler Griffey Enjoyed Official Visit

Forward Tyler Griffey made his official visit this weekend. Griffey took the time to talk with us about his visit. Get inside for more.

Tyler Griffey, the 6'9" power forward from Ballwin, Missouri, made his official visit this weekend along with future teammate Joseph Bertrand of Sterling, Illinois.

"I had a great time, and so did my parents," Griffey acknowledged. "We got down there on Friday morning and from the time we left it was first class. Right away I got to meet the academic advisors in the business department which is the most important thing."

An official visit is a lot different that an unofficial one. There's a lot more involvement from coaches and the school, and Griffey said he was able to meet Athletic Director Ron Guenther.

"Friday night all the coaches and our family went out to dinner and just got to laugh, talk and enjoy ourselves," Griffey stated. "But later that night I got to hang out with Dominique Keller, Bill Cole, Alex Legion, and Demetri McCamey, that was a lot of fun."

Saturday morning Griffey was able to play with his future teammates. "I really liked that," Griffey said. "I played pretty good myself. I shot the ball well, made some good passes. I liked how Joseph played; he's going to be really good. I can't wait to suit up with him. I tell you a kid who played very, very well was Dominique. I didn't know he was that good, he can play. Every game down there he was a big factor, he's also a good person and he plays hard all the time."

Griffey enjoyed his visit so much he plans to come back next month to Midnight Madness, "I've never been to a Midnight Madness before," Griffey said. "The coaches told me that Brandon Paul and D.J. Richardson will be on campus too."
